γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· διατί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίετε καὶ πίνετε;γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν , but these versions add και οι φαρισαιοι , a reading found in Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus and Codex Washingtonensis. Γραμματεῖς or γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι ? The former, however well supported by evidence, are to be rejected, when it is manifest (or very probable) that they have proceeded from the errors of copyists.
